Lavínia DeCastro Walsh - Director/Producer

Lavínia is a graduate of the prestigious American Film Institute Conservatory in Los Angeles. She has worked in the art department on Star Wars Ahsoka, Fast X, HBO's His Dark Materials, Netflix's Black Doves, Sky's Save the Cinema and Apple TV's Surface and Invasion. Before that, she was as a production designer and art director for various independent feature and short films, including Golden State, which premiered at the Cannes Film Festival’s Emerging Filmmakers Showcase. Before moving into film, Lavínia worked as a television and newspaper reporter in the United States and Brazil, often shooting and editing mini-documentaries. Originally from Brazil, Lavínia has lived in the US and Italy and currently resides in the UK. Caipira is her directorial debut.

Dan Walsh - Producer

Dan is an award-winning journalist with more than 15 years experience in newspapers, magazines, online media and radio. He has written about everything from politics and environmental issues to prisons and sports and been a member of several journalism organizations, including Investigative Reporters and Editors, Inc., Society of Environmental Journalists and North American Soccer Reporters. He currently lives in the UK.

Bhushan Thakkar - Director of Photography

Bhushan is a cinematographer, photographer, producer and director who has shot films, commercials and native web content. He served as co-producer on the feature film When Harry Tries to Marry, appeared in the Mumbai, Gold Coast and Austin film festivals and was best named best film at the London Asian and Jersey Shore film festivals. He also shot and directed the short documentary, Glass. He lives in California.

R.A. Fedde - Editor

R. A. Fedde‘s film and television work include 10 Days that Unexpectedly Changed America: Antietam, winner of a 2006 Emmy Award for Best Non-Fiction Series and Hostages, winner of a 2023 Emmy Award for Outstanding Historical Documentary. FRONTLINE Growing Up Online and Combat Diary also received Emmy nominations. In 2004, Fedde won the prestigious Gracie Allen Award for her work as editor on Pure Magic: The Mother Daughter Bond. Other broadcast projects include episodes of American Experience, the Soundtracks series on CNN, and the HBO series Atlanta’s Missing and Murdered, which was nominated for a 2021 Peabody Award and won best series at the 2021 IDA Awards. Her feature documentaries have premiered at Tribeca Film Festival (House Two and The Remix), Slamdance (Running Wild: The Life of Dayton O. Hyde), SXSW ($ellebrity and This is a Film about The Black Keys), Santa Barbara International Film Festival (The Last One), Telluride (Citizen Ashe), and DocNYC (Once and for All) where they have won various audience and best documentary awards. She also directed a feature documentary about Hindu god lithographs.

Pedro Laborne - Sound Mixer/Boom Operator

Pedro is a sound designer, musician and graduate of Centro Universitário UNA in Belo Horizonte, Brazil. He runs the production company, Suricata, where he works with cinematographic and musical productions. He edited the documentary, Mamulengo, which won the award for best foreign language documentary in the Los Angeles Independent Film Festival. He lives in Brazil.​​
